Overview #
The Data Maps screen is used to map incoming source values to valid target values in LogiSense. A data map is useful when external systems send values that do not match the values expected by LogiSense, such as status names, codes, or other source-system identifiers.
Data maps support import, transformation, and mediation scenarios where those incoming values need to be translated into platform-recognized values before downstream processing can continue successfully.
This screen works together with data profiles and transform logic, but the screen itself is focused on creating and maintaining the individual map records and the source-to-target rows that define how those translations should occur.
Data Maps Panel #
The Data Maps Panel on the left allows you to select existing records so that you can view and edit their details on the panel to the right. A data map can only be deleted when it is not currently referenced elsewhere.

Edit Data Map Panel #
The information in this section reflects the currently selected record. From here you can review the current configuration and make changes where permitted. Target identifies the target resource or entity the map applies to. The target is selected when creating the map and becomes read-only afterward.
Fields #
Name: a descriptive name for the selected record.Target: explain that identifies the target resource or entity the map applies to.
Maps Tab #
The Maps tab contains the list of source-to-target mappings for the selected data map.
Use the Add Map action on this tab to create a new mapping row. Each row defines a source value and the target value it should resolve to within LogiSense. Existing rows can be edited or removed from the list as needed.
If a row is removed it can remain in a removed state until the overall record is saved. The tab also shows when rows have been modified so that pending changes can be reviewed before saving.
References Tab #
The References tab shows where the selected configuration is used elsewhere in the application.
This tab helps administrators understand downstream impact before changing or deleting a record. If the selected record is referenced by other configuration, deletion may be restricted.
Save And Edit Behavior #
New maps are created by entering a name, selecting a target, and then defining one or more map rows. Unsaved changes are tracked on the screen. The Add Map action is only useful when there are available mapping options for the selected target. The delete action for the overall data map is restricted when the map is referenced by other configuration.
