Overview #
Price plans allow you to override catalog pricing for packages that may be added to an account. This screen is used when an account needs pricing that differs from the standard product catalog without changing the catalog itself for every customer.
Within a price plan you can add eligible packages from the product catalog and then configure account-specific pricing for Recurring, One-Time, and Transition charges. If the selected package is later added to the account, the configured price-plan pricing can be used instead of the standard catalog pricing for that package.
Important: Account price plans can override usage rates for an account service only when a Rate Plan is already specified for that service in the selected Package Frequency. If no Rate Plan is attached to the service in the Package Frequency, usage rates cannot be overridden from the account price plan.
Before You Start #
Before adding a package to an account price plan, confirm the following:
- The package and package frequency are available to the account.
- The price book and currency context are correct for the account.
- If the user needs to override service usage rates, the service has a Rate Plan configured in the selected Package Frequency.
If the Rate Plan is missing from the Package Frequency, the account price plan may still allow other eligible price overrides, but it cannot create usage-rate overrides for that service.
Account Price Plan Panel #
The Account Price Plan panel on the left displays the price plans that already exist for the account. Select a price plan in this list to review or update its details in the panel on the right.

Edit Account Price Plan Panel #
The panel on the right displays the details for the selected price plan.
Fields #
- Name: Enter the name used to identify the price plan on the account.
- Description: Enter optional notes or a short summary describing the purpose of the price plan.
- Start Date: Defines when the price plan becomes effective.
- End Date: Defines when the price plan stops being effective. Leave this blank if the price plan should remain active until it is manually ended.
- Price also applies to child accounts: When selected during creation, the price plan can also apply to child accounts beneath the current account. This setting is intended for account hierarchies where the same override pricing should be shared across related accounts.
Price Overrides Tab #
The Price Overrides tab is where packages are added to the price plan and where the pricing overrides are maintained. Use Add Package to add a price book, package, and package frequency combination that you want this price plan to control.
When adding a package for usage-rate override purposes, make sure the selected package frequency includes a Rate Plan on the service that needs to be overridden. The account price plan uses that catalog-level service Rate Plan as the basis for rate overrides. Without it, the screen cannot expose the usage-rate override controls for that service.
Each package entry can display:
- Price Book: The price book associated with the package pricing.
- Package: The package included in the account price plan.
- Frequency: The package frequency being overridden.
- Product Code: The account-specific product code used when multiple versions of the same package need separate pricing.
- Default Counting Rule: The counting rule associated with the package frequency when that information is available.
The tab includes a mode switch so you can work with different types of pricing:
- Recurring
- One-Time
- Transition
Recurring #
Use Recurring to manage recurring service charges and related usage-rate overrides for packages in the plan.
When a package row is expanded, the screen shows the recurring services that belong to that package. From here you can:
- override recurring service amounts,
- open usage-rate editing for services that have Rate Plans,
- navigate to related discount or location-group configuration when those tools are available for the selected service.
Usage-rate editing is available only when the selected service has a Rate Plan configured in the package frequency. If no Rate Plan is attached, selecting usage-rate editing will not allow rate overrides and the screen may show No Rate Plan Found with the message that there is no rate plan attached to the item.
If an account-level override differs from the underlying catalog value, the screen can display a hint so you can compare the override against the catalog default.
Usage Rate Overrides #
Use Edit Usage Rates to override the rates assigned through the service Rate Plan. The dialog can show the selected Rate Plan, available Rate Groups, and the related Usage Rates that can be overridden for the account price plan.
The Rate Plan must come from the service setup in the selected Package Frequency. The account price plan does not create a new service Rate Plan by itself. It only allows overrides against an existing Rate Plan relationship. If that relationship is missing, add or update the Rate Plan on the service in the Package Frequency before configuring the account price plan rate override.
One-Time #
Use One-Time to manage one-time charges for the packages included in the price plan.
When a package contains one-time charges, expanding the package row shows the available charges and their current override values. Where applicable, the screen can indicate the catalog value or prompt you to open tiered pricing details so you can understand how the account-specific override differs from the standard catalog pricing.
Transition #
Use Transition to manage transition pricing for supported recurring services.
This area is used when a package includes transition-charge behavior, such as a transition amount or penalty charge that should be applied differently for the account. Expanding a package row displays the available transition-pricing entries so you can review or update those values.

Adding Price Plans #
- In the Account Price Plan panel, click Add.
