Overview #
Custom fields are used to capture additional business data on supported entities in LogiSense Billing. They are commonly used when an implementation needs to store extra information that is not covered by the standard product data model.
This screen is used to manage two related areas:
- the custom fields that exist for the selected entity
- the layouts that determine how those custom fields are presented on supported screens
Prerequisites #
Custom fields can be configured immediately. No prerequisite configuration is required.
Custom Fields Panel #
The Custom Fields panel on the left lists the available custom-field groups. Select an item to work with its fields and layouts in the panel on the right.
Actions #
| Icon | Description |
|---|---|
| Deletes the custom field if not in use (added to an entity or layout) | |
| Adds a new custom field |
Edit Custom Field Panel #
The Edit Custom Field panel is organized into tabs that support field maintenance and layout maintenance.
Fields Tab #
The Fields tab lists the custom fields that belong to the selected group.
Use Add on this tab to create a new custom field definition. Existing fields can also be edited or removed from the list.
Fields List #
The list displays summary details for each custom field, including:
- Name: The display name of the custom field.
- Column Name: The underlying column name used for the field.
- Type: The data type used by the custom field.
If no fields exist yet, the screen shows an empty-state message instead of the list.
Layouts Tab #
The Layouts tab is used to control how custom fields are placed on supported layouts.
For entities that support layout selection, the Select Layout field can be used to choose the layout context being edited. Within the layout grid, fields can be positioned, edited, moved, or removed as part of the layout design process.
This area is useful when a field exists in the system but still needs to be placed on a layout before users can work with it in the intended screen flow.
