Overview #
The Owner Configuration screen is the central location for owner-level settings in LogiSense Billing. It is used to control foundational behavior such as supported currencies, password rules, branding, numbering, locale support, payment configuration, customer portal behavior, single sign-on settings, and reporting-related options.
Rather than presenting one flat configuration page, this screen is organized as a menu of owner-configuration modules. Each module focuses on a specific area of responsibility and opens its settings in the panel on the right.
Owner Configuration Panel #
The Owner Configuration panel on the left is used to navigate between the owner-level configuration modules.
The available modules include:
- Financial Settings: Controls fiscal settings and supported currencies for the owner.
- Password Policy: Defines password, lockout, and session rules for Admin Portal users.
- Branding: Stores owner branding details and logos used in the application interface.
- Permissions: Opens owner-related permission settings.
- Numbering Configuration: Defines automatic numbering behavior for invoices and credit notes.
- Locale: Controls locale support and translation management.
- Payment Types: Maintains the payment types available under the owner.
- Customer Portal: Controls portal activation and customer-facing portal behavior.
- SAML Settings: Configures SSO and related identity-provider settings.
- Reporting: Displays reporting-database related configuration and status.
Edit Owner Configuration Panel #
The Edit Owner Configuration panel on the right displays the settings for the selected module.
Financial Settings #
The Financial Settings section controls fiscal behavior and the currency framework used by the owner.
Fields #
- Fiscal Year Starting Month: Defines the month in which the owner’s fiscal year begins.
- Bill Prepaid Adjustments: Controls how prepaid changes are handled during billing. This setting affects whether prepaid changes are billed within the current period or deferred to a later billing cycle based on the configured billing behavior.
Currencies Tab #
The Currencies tab is used to maintain the currencies available under the owner, including the default currency. These currencies are later used throughout the system, such as on accounts and product-catalog items.
Because currency setup affects broader owner-level financial behavior, changes in this area should be reviewed carefully before saving.
Password Policy #
The Password Policy section defines login and account-security rules for users who sign in to the LogiSense Billing Admin Portal.
Password Policy Fields #
- Password Expiry: Defines how often users must change their passwords.
- Reset Period Valid For: Defines how long a lockout period lasts after too many failed login attempts.
- Absolute Session Timeout: Defines the maximum session duration before a user must sign in again.
- History Length: Controls how many previously used passwords are remembered.
- Max Failed Sequential Logins: Defines how many failed login attempts are allowed before lockout occurs.
- Minimum Length: Defines the minimum permitted password length.
- Only Allow Specified Characters: Restricts password content to the configured character sets when enabled.
Branding #
The Branding section is used to maintain owner identity details and Admin Portal branding assets.
This area can include business details such as address and tax identifiers, along with logo images used in the Admin Portal interface.
Branding Images #
- Large Logo: Used in the larger left-side navigation layout.
- Small Logo: Used in narrower layouts.
When uploading branding images, supported file types and size limits apply.
Numbering Configuration #
The Numbering Configuration section controls automatic numbering behavior for invoices and credit notes.
Numbering Fields #
- Prefix: Adds fixed text before the generated number.
- Start: Defines the starting number for the sequence.
- Minimum Length: Pads generated numbers to a consistent minimum length.
These settings are typically established before invoice or credit-note generation begins so numbering remains consistent.
Locale #
The Locale section is used to manage locale support for owner documents and translated content.
In addition to enabling locales, this area supports translation download and upload workflows so administrators can manage translated labels and content in CSV form.
Payment Types #
The Payment Types section is used to manage the payment types available under the owner.
This area supports both manual payment types and payment types associated with payment-gateway configuration. Depending on the payment type, the list can show details such as the gateway, payment base type, card type, active status, GL code, and description.
Owner-level payment configuration is important because it supports downstream account payment methods and payment processing behavior.
Customer Portal #
The Customer Portal section controls whether the customer-facing portal is enabled and how that portal behaves.
This area can be used to manage portal branding, customer self-service capabilities, payment-related options, and account-view behavior. It is the main owner-level area for enabling and shaping the customer portal experience.
SAML Settings #
The SAML Settings section is used to configure single sign-on and related identity-provider integration.
This area can include the SAML enablement setting, entity identifiers, provider metadata, LogiSense Billing endpoint values, configuration testing, and SCIM token management. It is the main owner-level area for SSO and provisioning setup.
Reporting #
The Reporting section is used to review reporting-database related configuration.
This area is relevant when the environment uses a reporting or replica database for report execution. It helps administrators understand whether reporting infrastructure has been enabled and how reporting is expected to run in the environment.
