Overview #
Usage data feeds define how LogiSense Billing receives and prepares incoming usage records for mediation and billing. A feed identifies where the source records are collected from and which data profile should be used to convert those records into a billing-ready format.
This screen is typically used when an organization receives usage data from network systems, upstream providers, or external applications and needs that data processed consistently before it can be rated and billed.
Prerequisites #
Data profiles must already be configured before a usage data feed can be created.
Feeds Panel #
The Feeds panel on the left lists the available usage data feeds. Select a feed to view or edit its details in the panel on the right.
Actions #
| Icon | Description |
|---|---|
| Deletes the feed | |
| Adds a new feed |
Edit Feed Panel #
The Edit Feed panel displays the configuration for the selected feed.
Fields #
- Name: Identifies the feed. Use a name that clearly describes the source or purpose of the usage data.
- Enabled: Determines whether the feed is active and available for processing usage records.
- API Name: Defines the feed name used when usage is submitted through the API. This value supports alphanumeric characters without spaces. Because integrations may rely on this value, changing it after a feed is in use should be done carefully.
- Description: Provides additional information about the feed.
- Location: Defines the source location used by the feed. This is typically the S3 path or folder the feed monitors for incoming usage files.
- Data Profile: Identifies the data profile used to transform the incoming source records into the structure required by LogiSense Billing.
References Tab #
The References tab shows where the selected feed is used elsewhere in the system. This helps administrators understand whether the feed is already associated with other configuration or processing areas before making changes or attempting to delete it.
