Overview #
Transactions are debit and credit entries that affect the account balance and may later be issued to invoices. This screen is used to review existing transactions, add manual transactions, delete eligible transactions, reverse eligible transactions, and manage tax adjustments for tax-adjustment transactions.
The screen supports both regular manual transactions and tax-adjustment transactions. Depending on the selected transaction, some actions, fields, and tabs may appear or disappear. Payments are not shown on this screen. To review payments, use Account / Billing / Payments.
Transactions Panel #
The Transactions panel on the left lists the transactions that exist on the account. Select a transaction in this panel to review its details on the right.

Transactions List #
The transactions list shows the saved transactions on the account together with transaction summary information.
Edit Transaction Panel #
The panel on the right displays the details for the selected transaction.
Fields #
- Date: The transaction date.
- Posting Date: The posting date used for reporting and fiscal-period recognition.
- Start Date: The start of the period the transaction applies to.
- End Date: The end of the period the transaction applies to.
- Account: The account the transaction is issued against.
- Quantity: The quantity multiplier for the transaction.
- Amount: The amount of the transaction.
- Price Book: The price book context used when selecting the service.
- Service: The service the transaction relates to.
- Package: The related package name when the transaction was system-generated from package activity.
- Issued Invoice: The invoice the transaction has been issued to, when applicable.
- Tax Inclusive: Indicates whether tax is calculated within the transaction amount instead of being added on top.
- Apply Tax Now: Applies tax immediately during transaction creation when that option is available.
- General Ledger: The general-ledger code associated with the transaction.
- Service Tax Category: The service tax category associated with the transaction.
- Detail: The descriptive detail stored on the transaction.
- Usage Identifier: The usage identifier associated with the transaction when usage context applies.
- Created By: The user who created the transaction.
Taxes Tab #
The Taxes tab lists the taxes that have been applied to the selected transaction. When taxes are present, the tab shows the tax name, tax code, tax rate, and amount. When taxes are not present, the tab shows an informational message indicating whether no tax applies or whether tax is still pending.
Discounts Tab #
The Discounts tab lists discounts that were applied to the transaction when discount data is available.
Reversal Tab #
The Reversal tab lists reversal transactions that have already been created against the selected transaction. For each reversal, the tab shows the reversal ID, date, type, and amount.
The reversal row actions can be used to:
- view the reversal taxes
- delete an eligible unbilled reversal
Tax Adjustments Tab #
The Tax Adjustments tab is shown for tax-adjustment transactions. This tab lists the tax-rate adjustments attached to the transaction and includes the Add Tax Adjustment action for adding additional tax-rate rows when the transaction is still editable.
Each tax-adjustment row includes the tax rate, rate value, and amount. Existing rows can be edited or removed when the tax-adjustment transaction is still eligible for change.
Guides #
Adding Transactions #
- In the Transactions panel, click Add.
- Enter the transaction details, including Date, Posting Date, Account, Quantity, Amount, and Service.
- If needed, select the Price Book, period dates, General Ledger, and Service Tax Category.
- Set Tax Inclusive or Apply Tax Now if those options apply to the transaction you are creating.
- Enter the Detail.
- Save the transaction.
Editing Transactions #
Only eligible transactions can be edited.
- In the Transactions panel, select the transaction you want to update.
- Update the editable transaction fields.
- Save the changes.
Reversing Transactions #
Use Reverse for eligible transactions.
- In the Transactions panel, select the transaction you want to reverse.
- Click Reverse.
- Enter the reversal details required by the reverse-transaction flow, such as the reversal date, posting date, amount, and optional detail.
- Confirm the reversal.
- Review the created reversal in the Reversal tab if needed.
Adding Tax Adjustments #
Use Tax Adjustment when you need to create a tax-adjustment version of a transaction.
- In the Transactions panel, select the source transaction.
- Click Tax Adjustment.
- Review the cloned transaction details.
- Open Tax Adjustments.
- Click Add Tax Adjustment.
- Select the Tax Rate.
- Review the populated Rate value.
- Enter the adjustment Amount.
- Save the transaction.
Deleting Transactions #
Only eligible transactions can be deleted.
- In the Transactions panel, select the transaction you want to remove.
- Click Delete.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
