Overview #
Time Periods are used to make rating rules apply only during specific windows of time, such as evenings, weekends, or other scheduled periods. Once configured, a time period can be assigned to usage rate groups so those groups are only considered during the defined schedule.
This allows a rating configuration to apply different prices at different times. For example, one rate group can be used during peak hours while another rate group handles usage outside the defined period.
Prerequisites #
Time periods can be configured immediately. There are no prerequisite configuration steps for this screen.
The Time Periods Panel #
The Time Periods panel on the left displays the time periods that already exist in the system. Select a time period to load its details in the edit panel on the right.

The Edit Time Period Panel #
The panel on the right displays the selected time period and is where you maintain its name and schedule details.
Main Field #
- Name: The name of the time period. This should clearly describe when the period applies, such as Evening, Weekend, or After Hours.
Detail Tab #
The Detail tab contains the day-and-time entries that make up the time period.
Each detail row represents one scheduled window and shows:
- the day of the week
- the start time
- the end time
For example, a weekend time period can be built by adding one detail for Saturday and another for Sunday.
Working With Details #
Use the Detail tab to:
- add a new time period detail
- edit an existing time period detail
- clone a detail so you can reuse the same time range for another day
- delete or restore a detail before saving
References Tab #
The References tab shows which rate groups currently use the selected time period. This is helpful when determining whether the time period can be deleted or when assessing the impact of changes.
