Overview #
Price book regions are used to group countries together so that pricing can be organized by region. Once a price book region is configured and active, it can be used when setting up price books to control where that pricing applies.
This is helpful when the same product catalog needs to support regional pricing differences across multiple countries while still keeping those countries organized under a shared regional definition.
Specifying Price Books That Accounts Can Use #
Price book regions also support account-level pricing control. In practice, they help determine which regional price books an account is allowed to use when purchasing products.
This is useful when a business sells into more than one market and wants to make sure accounts only see or purchase products using the pricing intended for their region. For example, an account in one country may be allowed to purchase from a regional price book for Europe, while another account may be restricted to a different regional price book based on where it operates.
This allows pricing access to be controlled in a structured way without having to manage every country or pricing variation individually on each account.

Countries must already exist in the system before they can be added to a price book region.
