# Payment Terms Screen

**Last verified with:**10.8.6.0

Payment Terms are configured in Setup / Finance / Dunning Process / Payment Terms

## Overview

Payment terms are used to define how invoice due dates are determined. These terms are later selected through accounts receivable term configuration so that accounts follow the intended payment timing rules.

A payment term can be based on a fixed day of the month, a net number of days, or an on-due-date behavior depending on the payment-term type selected.

## Prerequisites

There are no required prerequisite setup steps before creating payment terms.

## Payment Terms Panel

The Payment Terms panel on the left displays the available payment terms. Selecting a payment term loads its details on the right so you can review or update it.

### Conditional Field Behavior

- When **Payment Term Type** is **Net**, the **Term** field is shown and required.
- When **Payment Term Type** is **Day of Month**, the **Day of Month** field is shown and required.
- When the type is **On Due Date**, neither of those value-entry fields is required.

## References Tab

The **References** tab shows where the selected payment term is already in use. This helps determine the impact of changes and whether the payment term can be deleted.
