# Bill Runs Screen

**Last verified with:** 10.8.6.0

Bill Runs are configured in Setup / Finance / Billing / Bill Run

## Overview

Bill runs control when billing-related processing is executed for the accounts associated with selected bill groups. A bill run can be configured to perform one or more operational tasks such as billing package charges, billing usage, generating invoices, delivering invoices, executing contract-related charges, running dunning activity, and collecting payments.

Bill runs can be used in two main ways:

- as one-time runs for a specific processing period
- as recurring schedules that run automatically on an ongoing basis

The bill run itself defines what actions should occur, while the related bill groups determine which accounts are included in the run.

## Prerequisites

- Currency exchange rates should already be configured.
- Bill groups should already be configured.
- Accounts receivable terms should already be configured if the bill run will execute dunning activity.

## Functionality

When a bill run executes, only the options enabled on that bill run are processed. Depending on the selected options, a bill run can perform actions such as:

- billing package charges
- billing usage charges
- generating invoices
- rendering invoices
- delivering invoices
- running contract-related billing activity
- running dunning activity
- collecting payments

Whether an account or account package is actually processed during a bill run still depends on the dates and billing conditions of the records being evaluated.

## Bill Runs Panel

The Bill Runs panel on the left displays the available bill runs. Selecting a bill run loads its details on the right so you can review or update it.

The list helps you identify each bill run by showing:

- **Name**: The label used to identify the bill run. This is typically named to reflect the bill groups being processed or the main purpose of the run.
- **Bill Period Start**: The beginning of the billing period associated with the bill run record shown in the list. This helps indicate the start of the billing window that the run is working with.
- **Bill Period End**: The end of the billing period associated with the bill run record shown in the list. Together with **Bill Period Start**, this helps you understand the processing window for the run.
