# Account Status Types Screen

**Last verified with:** 10.8.6.0

Account Status Types are configured in Setup / Users & Accounts / Accounts / Status Types

## Overview

Account status types define the statuses that accounts can use in LogiSense Billing. These statuses help determine how accounts behave operationally and whether certain account changes are allowed while the account is in a particular state.

In practice, account status types are used to reflect where an account is in its lifecycle, such as when it is active and billable, temporarily restricted, or permanently canceled. They help administrators apply consistent operational rules across accounts instead of handling each account individually.

This screen is used to define the available account statuses, identify the default status for new accounts, and control whether account changes are restricted for a given status. Once configured, these status types can be assigned to accounts and become part of the account-management workflow used by billing, operations, and support teams.

## Prerequisites

Account status types can be configured immediately. There are no prerequisite configuration steps.

## Account Status Types Panel

The Account Status Types panel on the left lists the configured status types. Select a status type to view or edit its details in the panel on the right.

## Edit Account Status Type Panel

The Edit Account Status Type panel displays the details for the selected account status type.

### Fields

- **Name**: Identifies the account status type.
- **Default**: Determines whether this is the default status applied when a new account is created. Only one account status type can be marked as the default.
- **Status**: Defines the base billing-status behavior associated with the account status type.
- **Prevent Changes**: Determines whether account settings can be changed while the account is in this status.

### Status Options

The **Status** field determines the underlying system status used by the account status type.

- **Billable**: Indicates a status that supports normal billing activity for the account.
- **Canceled**: Indicates a permanent canceled status. Accounts in a canceled status cannot be transitioned back into an active lifecycle through normal status changes.
- **Non-Billable**: Identifies a non-billable base status option when that status type is available in the environment.

When the selected status is **Canceled**, the **Prevent Changes** behavior is fixed and cannot be adjusted from this screen.

### References Tab

The **References** tab shows where the selected account status type is being used elsewhere in the system. This is useful when reviewing the effect of a change or determining whether the status type can be deleted.
