# Account Settings Screen

**Last verified with:**10.8.6.0

Account Settings are configured in Account / Overview / Settings

## Overview

The Account Settings screen is the entry point for account-level configuration areas such as billing, account identity, tax settings, customer-portal settings, and invoice-discount settings. The screen uses a settings list on the left and loads the selected settings editor on the right.

The main settings areas available from this screen are:

- **Billing**
- **Account**
- **Taxes**
- **Customer Portal**
- **Invoice Discounts**

## Settings Panel

The Settings panel on the left lists the available settings areas for the current account. Select one of these items to load that configuration section on the right.

### Available Settings Areas

- **Billing**: Opens the billing settings for the account.
- **Account**: Opens the account identity and account-level commercial settings.
- **Taxes**: Opens the account tax configuration.
- **Customer Portal**: Opens the customer-portal settings when portal access is available for the account.
- **Invoice Discounts**: Opens invoice-discount settings for the account.

## Edit Settings Panel

The panel on the right changes based on the settings area selected in the Settings panel.

### Billing Settings

The **Billing** settings area is used to manage invoice and billing-cycle behavior for the account.

This section includes settings such as:

- **Accounts Receivable Term**: Defines the receivables terms that control when payment is due and what follow-up rules may apply after the due date.
- **Currency**: Defines the account currency used for billing, invoicing, and pricing context.
- **Bill Group**: Assigns the account to the bill group that controls billing-cycle behavior and related defaults.
- **Invoice Delivery**: Defines how invoices for the account are delivered and which invoice-delivery configuration applies.
- **Bill Day**: Sets the day of the billing cycle used for subscription-style billing on the account.
- **New Bill Day**: Stores a pending bill-day change that takes effect in a later billing cycle rather than immediately.
- **Usage Bill Day**: Sets the day of the billing cycle used for usage billing on the account.
- **New Usage Bill Day**: Stores a pending usage bill-day change that takes effect in a later billing cycle.
- **Subscription Charges - Account To Invoice**: Identifies the invoicer account that should receive subscription charges for this account when invoicer billing is used.
- **Usage Charges - Account To Invoice**: Identifies the invoicer account that should receive usage charges for this account when invoicer billing is used.
- **Default Gateway**: Sets the default payment gateway used for billing-related payment behavior when that configuration is available.
- **Default Merchant Account**: Sets the default merchant-account selection used with compatible payment-gateway configurations.

Some billing changes can trigger confirmation prompts, such as changing bill-day values or making changes that affect customer-portal eligibility.
